As far as I can remember, I enjoyed playing with the boys and playing "boy" games. I did not like the dresses, dolls or Barbies (unless I played with them in the mud).
Some of my best friends growing up, and until I am married, were boys. One of my earliest memories is playing with little green men armed with the boys in the street, set it on fire and shooting with rubber bands (at the time, parents had more pressing to do than hang over their children).Rather than cheer-leader away with the girls, I played football and kickball with the boys in the back yard of our neighbor. I guess you would have called me a "tomboy", but for me ... I was just a girl.
