So many memories .... all principles ... and so many changes over time.

When I returned to South Elementary after being an elementary student, I was an intern from Boston State College (now part of U Mass Boston). I was so excited yet nervous that work in the building with my own director, Miss Mary Daly. I loved my time teaching students of grade one and grade 4 September to December 1972 with Mrs. Doble and Miss Sturgis.

In the spring, after finishing my last semester, Miss Daly hired me to finish the year for a first year teacher, Ms.Kerman, who left to have a baby. It was so exciting to have my first class, develop courses and create bulletin boards. I must have done a good job as Miss Daly recommended me for this early in the first year in the fall of 1973. My dream had come true .... I was a teacher! And so began my career ...

Thanks for all the Barbie reviews posted on Amazon - there were some excellent comments. The moderators have since removed them, but they'll have given Mattel something else to think about. Mattel has created many careers for Barbie over the years - vet, fashion designer, architect - but this latest career move as rainforest destroyer means she needs a whole new look.

It's been a while since I've posted my work on here and being a person who likes things in chronological order I couldn't post recent works until I posted my old ones (I really should get a hold on things!) So I traced through my Flickr photostream  to see what the last piece of work I posted on my blog and realized I haven't blogged these pieces. This piece was submitted for my Identity/Feminism project where I looked at aspects in my life, how I identify with them and my strong views & beliefs. I wanted to look into my Islamic roots (my grandparents are very religious), self-portraiture and what that meant to me.
