When I was growing up, I played with Barbies every day. I would sit cross-legged on the floor for hours and make up whole imaginary worlds for myself. The Christmas I was 7 years old, my parents surprised me with a Barbie dream house. They also gave me complete sets of furniture to fill the pink plastic rooms. That Christmas remains my favorite Christmas ever.

My dollhouse was set up in the basement, since there was no room for it in my bedroom. My mom attempted to keep things organized by buying stackable plastic bins for my Barbie clothes and accessories, but I never used them. I kept my Barbies’ world assembled, leaving out the tiny hairbrushes and the sharp high heels that would always end up under my dad’s feet.

Then I felt the opening and I can see where I finger. I cut two inches to the side of the felt when I see my fold lines meet. Again, on all four sides. Then I fold the ends to create a "box" I used four straight pins to hold it in place. Now you can sew or glue your corners and remove the pins.

Then I put the box on a piece of black felt, leaving about an inch of black felt which comes around I cut the excess from the end of the sheet of felt. (You can save this for another job later).

Then I took my sheet of gray felt strips and cut. They will look like a top black grill. Cut your first strips and arrange them anywhere on the felt before gluing. I did my strips about ½ wide - you can make them thinner if you want. Then I glued the grid down. I cut an extra piece of gray to go to my barbecue, but you do not have to....
