ALL parents have baby mementos they can cherish for a lifetime.

But while most mums and dads are content to reminisce with family albums and treasured trinkets, Carol Laing has gone a strange step further.

The 53-year-old mum of two grown-up kids is so determined to keep her children forever young that she spent hundreds of pounds on ultra-lifelike baby dolls to replace them when they fly the nest.

The dolls are even named after her daughter Rachelle, now 20, and son Adam, 17.

Carol, from Newark, Notts, says: "It means I will always have a baby to cuddle.

"I find the dolls very comforting - they bring back all the wonderful memories I have of my children when they were babies.

"It makes me happy - I love being a mum. One of the happiest times of my life was when my kids were little. This is a way for me to recreate that."
